CatchHour

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

The short version: the places you fish never leave your phone. We do not collect them, we do not store them, and we could not show them to anyone even if we were asked.

1. Who is responsible

CatchHour is operated by Tariel Tsakadze, an individual entrepreneur registered in Georgia, Sadgeri N2, 2g, Tbilisi 0194, Georgia. For anything in this policy you can write to info@satevzao.ge.

2. What stays on your device

Your saved spots (their names and coordinates), your catch log, and your settings — language, card order, which weather models you switched off — are stored in the app's own storage on your phone. They are never uploaded to our servers.

This is a deliberate design decision, not an oversight. Anglers keep their spots to themselves, and a promise that "your points are on our server" is a drawback rather than a feature. The cost is real: if you delete the app or change phone without a backup, that data is gone.

3. What we do collect

Account (optional)

The app works fully without an account. If you create one, we store your name, email address and a cryptographic hash of your password — never the password itself. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address, your name, and a link to your profile picture from them. We use this only to recognise you and to attach your subscription to you.

Usage statistics

To understand how the app is used, we record for each screen you open:

Coordinates are never sent to us. We estimate a visitor's country from the time zone and language, which is approximate and deliberately so — precise location data is not worth the cost to your privacy.

Subscription

If you subscribe, we store which plan you have, when it expires, whether it renews, and an identifier of the store transaction. We never see your card: the payment happens entirely inside Apple's or Google's systems.

4. Who else receives data

ServiceWhat it receivesWhy
Open-MeteoThe coordinates of the spot you are viewingTo return the weather forecast for that point. This request goes from your device directly to them and carries no account information.
RevenueCatYour account number and the purchase data reported by the storeTo verify subscriptions and tell our server who is a subscriber.
Apple, GoogleYour payment details, which they hold, not usTo process the purchase and manage renewals.
Our hosting providerThe database described aboveTo run the service.

We do not sell data, we do not share it for advertising, and there are no advertising or analytics SDKs in the app. The sign-in library we use ships with an optional Facebook provider; we do not enable it, and it is never loaded.

5. How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account exists. Usage statistics are kept while they remain useful for improving the app. Subscription records are kept for as long as accounting and tax rules require.

You can delete your account in the app under More → Delete. One thing to be explicit about: when an account is deleted we keep the email address so that the same address cannot silently create a duplicate record. Everything else associated with the account is removed. If you would rather the email address be erased as well, write to us and we will do it.

6. Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you are in the European Union, the GDPR also gives you the right to object to processing, to restrict it, and to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

We process account data to provide a service you asked for, and usage statistics on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding how the app performs. Write to info@satevzao.ge and we will answer within 30 days.

7. Children

CatchHour is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.

8. Security

Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as hashes. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise; if a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
